When is Independence Day 2022 in Indonesia?

Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring American independence from British rule. The first celebrations included fireworks, parades, and public readings of the Declaration. John Adams predicted July 2nd (the vote date) would be celebrated.

Celebrations include fireworks displays, parades, barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Many communities host fairs and concerts. Patriotic displays of flags and red-white-blue colors are ubiquitous. Hot dogs and apple pie are traditional foods.

Independence Day is always July 4th. If it falls on a Saturday, Friday is often observed; if Sunday, Monday is observed as the federal holiday.
